Woodstock 40th Anniversary (WestFest) Update

Bflyspirit8@aol.com

show details 5:58 PM (4 minutes ago)

Dear All

San Francisco's 40th anniversary of Woodstock is planned for October 25 in
Golden Gate Park. After forming our Woodstock Advisory Committee back in
December of 2008, I approached Boots Hughston, the producer of the 40th Summer
of Love anniversary, about doing a free 40th anniversary show for Woodstock.
About two months later I was invited to the meeting when they first
discussed this and brought 14 members of Musicians for Peace with me, including
some that worked for Boots before.

I am scheduled to do a butterfly release from the West Stage (main stage)
at 11:35 am  I am looking for help from our friends and members to sponsor
the butterfly release and for our participation in some of our upcoming
events. See below. Information on how to make a donation is on our members signup
page at  http://passion.edu/elearn/mod/resource/view.php?id=1678

There is still an opportunity for you to get involved through exhibitor
vending, volunteering or becoming a sponsor. Please go to
www.2b1records.com/woodstock40sf and check out vendors and sponsors links as well as the lineup.

I was also successful in getting Willie Nelson's Peace research institute
to promote the event on their site.  Please see
http://willienelsonpri.com/peace/4188/west-fest-celebrates-the-40th-anniversary-of-woodstock.html

You can also check out our Woodstock anniversary committee at
http://passion.edu/elearn/mod/resource/view.php?id=1712

Upcoming events
Musicians for Peace will be organizing a West Coast Tour in 2009 involving
some of our member festivals and producers. Those involved in will be

the festivals, including support for the US Department of Peace Campaign that
we and Peace Alliance are involved with.  Please see www.thepeacealliance.org

Some of those involved are EarthDance Los Gatos  www.lupinfestival.com
which I will be at this weekend and the Water Woman festival in Joshua Tree, CA,
next weekend from October 1-4  www.waterwomanfestival.com
I got Riki Hendrix booked for Water Woman and you can see and hear Riki
singing "Are You Experienced" at the  Woodstock Reunion '97 in Bethel, NY at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=plRxBXMDNUc

Other collaborators are:
The WorldOne Festival  www.worldoneradio.org
Women in the Redwoods  www.myspace.com/musicintheredwoods
WAMMfest www.wammfest.org -produced by the Wo/Men’s Alliance for Medical
Marijuana
OneLove for Music  www.oneloveformusic.com - a campaign to get radio
stations to play the Bob Marley hit One Love on the International Day of Peace.
Country Joe's Open Mic in Berkeley  - A monthly event that Musicians for
Peace members are hosting  www.countryjoe.com/gigs.htm
Sexy Sunday  www.krickie.com/gigs.php

We have also been invited to join the planning committee for a 3-day
concert called "IMAGINE," in some respects similar to Woodstock '69. Imagine will
take place in 2010 at the same time as the G8 world leaders meeting in
Montreal, Canada. www.imagineconcert.com

Volunteer Opportunities
If you want to help organize a Musicians and Artists for Peace event or

countries.

Butterfly Crop Circles and the Galactic Butterfly
Hunab Ku is a Mayan term for the Galactic Butterfly. I wrote a piece on
this at http://passion.edu/elearn/mod/resource/view.php?id=1706
Interesting that both the butterfly and Hunab Ku symbols turned up as crop
circles in the UK.  The one in the Netherlands we all know was done by a
group of people.
Please see our Hunab Ku Music Video at www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQHdcJQI_6o

The biggest Art For the Sky project to date was done by Daniel Dancer, one
of our board members. On September, 2009, 4700 students and teachers from 21
schools in Uden, Holland formed a version of their local windmill and
depicted tulips for the blades to symbolize a badly needed new global vision for
our relationship with the sky. 350 is the most important number in the
world! Why? 350 parts per million (PPM) is the safe upper limit of carbon dioxide
concentration in the atmosphere.  http://vimeo.com/6638150 from Holland
Daniel's website is www.artforthesky.com  Also see  www.350.org

Please don't forget to make a donation of at least $1 to help us continue
our work. See   http://passion.edu/elearn/mod/resource/view.php?id=1678

For Immediate Release:  7/21/09

Woodstock was not just an event, a happening, or a concert with 400,000
people.  It was a pivotal moment of realization for an entire generation, an
epiphany, a moment of realization for the entire country. The hip movement
started in San Francisco a couple of years earlier in the Haight Ashbury and
the "Summer of Love" had spread across the nation. There were now millions of
hip people with 400,000 of them converging on Woodstock.

Woodstock was a statement to the world, "humanity had evolved", coming
together through peace, love and spirituality. An event whose original intent
was to make money became the largest FREE event in history. The hip movement
had come of age and was recognized by the world. The principles of love swept
the country and we had become the 'Woodstock Nation".

Hundreds of San Francisco stars and musical luminaries will perform at this
October 25, 2009 event to commemorate the original principles of peace,
love and spirituality. The Woodstock 40th will begin with a blessing by the
American Indigenous People and several Beat Generation poets. There will be
many speakers from the Peace Movement, the Free Speech Movement and the
Anti-War Movement along with many of the acts who originally performed at Woodstock

Thu Jul 30  7-10 pm                Primal Healing & Empowered Play for Men
- Oakland
Arrive 6:30-7pm

Daka University, The Daka Men’s Group, Tahil Gesyuk  & Brian O’Connell are
hosting an exciting new ongoing (drop-in) group, Primal Healing & Empowered
Play for Men: Healing the Wounds of the Brotherhood of Men through
Facilitated Discussion, Partner Yoga, Acrosage, Contact Improv, & Facilitated Puppy
Piles

- Come home to your body & release Homophobia
- Recover your innocent  joy & release  past Sexual Abuse
- Reclaim  the power of choice & release past Physical Abuse

All too often we men are trained to give away our power to women because
women have been the only source of touch and intimacy that we  are safely
allowed. As men we suffer in our unfulfilled,  and often misunderstood, needs
because we  have been deprived of intimate, caring, non-sexual touch with
other men.

Although most indigenous and ancient cultures encourage a brotherhood of
men in which emotions, and nurturing touch are compassionately shared. In our
modern, Western world, we no longer hold a centered ground of being and
trust in our own masculinity that allows us to hold tenderness for one another.

In 100’s of interviews with women, Tahil has assessed that many women find
it arousing and appealing when a man is sensual and comfortable with other
men. She appreciates that a man can choose her out of fullness rather than
lack around all his needs as a human being.

In Primal Healing & Empowered Play for Men, men are encouraged, in
confidential circles of truth, to share their fears around physical intimacy &
connection
with other men. Through safely guided contact improvisation dance, partner
yoga, and puppy piles, each man’s pacing and individual capacity is honored.

Sat Aug 1  1-5 pm                Forgiveness Masters Workshop w. Marianne
Williamson - San Rafael

Marianne Williamson & Congressman John Lewis - Forgiveness Day celebrations
- Aug 1 & 2 - San Rafael

"We will become as different from what we are now as the butterfly is from
the caterpillar" - Marianne Williamson

I would like to invite you to a most powerful weekend this summer...the
first weekend in August as we celebrate "The Heart and Soul of Forgiveness" on
the 13th International Forgiveness Day on Sunday, August 2nd and on
Saturday, August 1st with The Forgiveness Masters Workshop with Marianne Williamson
and Congressman John Lewis.

Once again, I am producing these events for the Worldwide Forgiveness
Alliance, with Bob Plath, founder and Executive Director, and I am very excited
with the opportunity to work with Marianne again, after a hiatus of 8 years
since the Masterpeace 2001 conference when she gave the closing keynote and
led us in a beautiful visioning of the world we truly desired. Two weeks
later, 9/11 happened and we were thrown into the darkest days that were the Bush
years.

Now, the defeat of the forces of fear in the last election have given us an
opening of hope and a challenge for us to step forward and be part of the
creation of a new dream.

While still a young man, John Lewis became a nationally recognized leader,
as the chairman of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee. By 1963,
he was dubbed one of the Big Six leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. (The
others were Whitney Young, A. Phillip Randolph, Martin Luther King Jr.,
James Farmer and Roy Wilkins). At the age of 23, he was an architect of and a
keynote speaker at the historic March on Washington in August 1963. Speaker
Nancy Pelosi calls him "the conscience of the U.S. Congress" and President
Obama said to him on Inaugural Day, "...without you, John, this wouldn't have
happened."

The arc of our weekend begins with "I Have A Dream" to today as we awaken
to realize that our New Dream is still gossamer-thin and calls for us to be
the bright shining light - the shining child of God that is magnificent - to
become the conscious thread that weaves our collective vision into reality.
This is the message that Marianne brings. That the rehearsal is over.  Our
time is now.

We are most fortunate to have these two incredible leaders of peace and
forgiveness lead us in a powerful experiential afternoon of transformation in
the Forgiveness Masters Workshop. "Forgiveness is medicine, it is the first
and last action to achieve peace." says Marianne Williamson.

Marianne Williamson is an internationally acclaimed spiritual teacher. Her
latest book, The Age of Miracles hit #2 on the New York Times Bestseller
list. Among her other 9 published books, four of them -- including A Return to
Love - were #1 New York Times Bestsellers. A Return to Love is considered a
must-read of The New Spirituality. A paragraph from that book, beginning
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we
are powerful beyond measure" - often misattributed to Nelson Mandela's
Inaugural address - is considered an anthem for a contemporary generation of
seekers. Marianne's other books include Everyday Grace, A Woman's Worth,
Illuminata, Healing the Soul of America, The Gift of Change and Emma and Mommy Talk
to God.

In December 2006, a NEWSWEEK magazine poll named Marianne Williamson one of
the fifty most influential baby boomers. According to Time magazine, "Yoga,
the Cabala and Marianne Williamson have been taken up by those seeking a
relationship with God that is not strictly tethered to Christianity."

I hope that you will be able to join us for these two events; particularly
The Forgiveness Masters Workshop which promises to be a major teaching by
Marianne on forgiveness, peace and love.  Will  iam@theabsolutecenter.com

Sun Aug 2  7-9:30 pm          International Forgiveness Day w. Marianne
Williamson - San Rafael

Come celebrate the possibilities of change in our lives when we learn to
forgive. Experience the moving and powerful stories of our heroes and
champions who have learned to forgive under highly difficult circumstances and then
have gone on to teach reconciliation and forgiveness to the broader world.
With performances by Eastbay International Mass Choir and Carmen Marie
Coleman.

This year we have four honorees.

Congressman John Lewis (Georgia) Hero of Forgiveness. Often called “one of
the most courageous persons the Civil Rights Movement ever produced,”
Congressman John Lewis has dedicated his life to protecting human rights, securing
civil liberties, and building what he calls “The Beloved Community” in
America.

Christopher Rodriguez, a 12-year-old boy paralyzed by a robber's stray
bullet as he was taking a piano lesson in Oakland last year, had a message for
the gunman who shot him, "I forgive you."

Marianne Williamson is being honored as being a world-renowned teacher of
peace and forgiveness. Please also see the From a Caterpillar to a Butterfly

Tue Aug 4  6-8 pm            The Commons, the Community w. Karl Fitzgerald
- SF

Karl Fitzgerald, Australian land policy economist, will speak on community
land trusts, public ownership of utilities, and the politics and economics
of land use at a free talk and nosh at the law offices of Matt Gonzalez and
G. Whitney Leigh, 2 Shaw Alley, 6-8 pm on Tuesday, August 4. Gonzalez, SF
City Assessor Phil Ting, and Editor Willie Ratcliff will also speak.

With the economy staggered by ill-advised mortgages issued against boom and
bust land values, and with city and state budgets in turmoil owing to the
economy’s decline on account of land value corrupted mortgages, and with
scarcely anyone connecting the current economic mess with land policy,
Fitzgerald’s talk, entitled “The Commons, the Community,” presents the finest
opportunity to explore this matter.

Fitzgerald directs the Australian non-profit think tank Earthsharing. His
stop in San Francisco coincides with his attendance of an international land
use conference taking place in Cleveland, Ohio the first week of August.
Encrusting Fitzgerald’s featured commentary will be remarks by Matt Gonzalez,
Willie Ratcliff, City Assessor Phil Ting, and a member of the SF School
Board.

Poetry and in-process visual art will grace the evening too, knitting head
and heart, thought and impulse together in understanding the breadth and
depth of the commons. The commons is not only parks, the streets, plazas and
range land, it is the ground under cities and the mineral resources of the
planet. All those interested in public power, wise land use policy, significant
pollution abatement, and affordable housing will find the evening’s
conversation out of the ordinary and yet eminently common-sensical.

Food and drink are complimentary.

Law offices of Matt Gonzalez and G. Whitney Leigh, 2 Shaw Alley (on Mission
between 1st and 2nd Streets), San Francisco

Love, Life & Spirit - Tiburon

Join Lori Grace Star and Michael Pooley for this fun and experiential
introduction to Tantra and Sexual Energetics!

In a safe, gentle, and respectful environment, we will explore how to
connect our hearts and our sexuality with Spirit, and how to allow ourselves to
tap into and surrender to the flow of our natural lifeforce energy.

Through breath, movement, music, dance, dialog, bio-energetics and
inter-personal interaction, we will learn to:

• Let go of our minds
• Show up in the moment
• Become fully present in our bodies
• Create sacred space and time
• Enhance trust and intimacy with others

Expect to gain practical tools for deepening your ability to be present,
relaxed and ecstatic; awakening your body's awareness, balance, and vitality;
and understanding the spiritual dimensions of sexual energy and intimacy.
The day will culminate with a very special Tantric puja (sacred ritual) to
celebrate and honor your capacity for love and connection. Afterwards, we'll
gather for a potluck dinner, and spend time soaking together in the hot tubs
and pool.

This playshop is equally appropriate for singles, couples, and partners —

Wed Aug 12  7-10pm              Men's Group w. Tahil Gesyuk - Oakland

2nd Wednesday of the month

Tahil Gesyuk would like to extend an invitation to you to join his monthly
Men's Group.

This group is founded on a vision of masculinity “without” false bravado
but rather an ownership of one's masculine essence.  In contrast to other
men's groups, we embrace the challenging of one another that naturally happens
in the company of men while not disregarding human dignity and respect.  We
journey together as a brotherhood in unraveling and healing the wounds of
men a cultured within us.

*We utilize chi kung, tai chi, oriental and ayervedic systems to penetrate
the mysteries of ourselves and the partners we love or will one day.

*We utilize the technologies of compassionate communication, N.V.C. and
Co-counseling.  In this we accelerate our absorption and connection with one
another.

*We journey along the chakra system (from an ayervedic system of health
that parallels the endocrine system).  Each chakra is a universe of how we
express ourselves and receive the world around us. *We utilize what I call life
medicine and heart-work.  In between meeting we work with result oriented
actions that are then shared with the group.

*We will be meeting for TBD group outing and getaways to have fun and just
be Guys.

If this is something that resonates with you or you feel curious don’t
hesitate to come or contact. The men that gravitate to the group are of all ages
and status backgrounds.

More Bands to be Announced Soon!

Latest on Woodfest '09

Greetings!

With a little over 2 weeks left until the show, I wanted to remind you that we've pledged 25% of ticket sales to our Children's Charities and that this would be a great opportunity to pay it forward and help make a difference in the lives of many Children.

We just partnered with another organization, Loving Soles, that distributes shoes to children in need and we'll be collecting slightly-used shoes at the festival as well as helping them cover the expenses of their mission trips.

Another of our charities, Diabetes Solutions of Oklahoma, is currently running one of their week-long summer camps at Camp Classen in Davis, Okla. Our donation will help cover 100% of the cost of the camp for as many as 85 kids for the week, and counselors and medical staff help teach them the life skills they need to cope as diabetics.

Angel Care, out of California, goes into disaster areas and provides food, clothing and shelter relief to families with children.

For the Love of a Mother's Child in Austin, Texas, provides a wide range of services to homeless mothers and their children; from immediate-need financial support to parenting classes and vocational assistance.

One thing we've heard from these and other charities is that through these economic hard times, contributions have fallen drastically which in turn forces them to cut the services they provide. This is an excellent opportunity to help turn that around.

In the end, even if you cant make the show, you'll be making a valued contribution to some terrific Children's Charities. If you do make it to the show, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the quality of the musical acts and the family-oriented atmosphere my production team has managed to bring together. Sparky's Inflatables in OKC is even bringing a Children's Inflatable City!

So step up, pay it forward and buy some tickets! And then...

...forward this on!

Best regards, and thanks in advance for your help!

WoodFest - Woodstock's 40th  Anniversary Party in Oklahoma

WOODFEST 09 - Woodstock's 40th  Anniversary
Uniting Musicians and Fine Artist for World Peace and WoodFest Productions
for
A family-friendly fundraising weekend concert event in the heartland

From Hendrix to Joplin, the scenic, 60-acre Washita Hideaway, OK, will host
an array of top '60s tribute bands August 14-16, 2009 at WoodFest '09.

June 16, 2009 (Davis, OK) -- Woodstock is turning 40 this year, and the
premiere commemorative festival this summer will be in America's heartland,
near Davis, Oklahoma. WoodFest Productions LLC, headed by Dave Weisser, will
produce a 3-day outdoor event titled WoodFest '09 in association with the
non-profit Musicians and Fine Artists for World Peace (MFAWP) at the 60-acre
Washita Hideaway from August 14-16, 2009, a weekend which matches that of the
original and legendary Woodstock concert in New York forty years ago.

Weisser, who hails from Broken Arrow, OK, says the event will present the
best of today's tribute bands immortalizing key artists of the '60s era such
as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Santana, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zeppelin,
The Grateful Dead, and Stevie Nicks.

"Simply put, Woodstock was the best concert of all time and so much more.
The government had so completely alienated the youth, and through some magic
combination of events, that shared alienation became the very center of a
whole new movement, truly of-, by- and for the people," says Weisser.

The difference with this event, Weisser says, is that this time it's for
the kids. The WoodFest '09 team has set a goal to raise $100,000 for
children's charities, via ticket sales and sponsorships. Currently on board are
Brookside Studios and Media Development, and Geek Rescue.

The association between WoodFest '09 and MFAWP was initiated by a flower
child in Hollywood, consultant/writer Suzanne J. Graeber. Following
finalization of the association with Woodfest '09, MFAWP founder Alan Moore said,
"Woodstock was a statement to the world that humanity had evolved and was coming
together through peace, love and spirituality. It is beautiful that an
event whose original intent was to make money became the largest free festival
in history."

Moore confirms that in addition to top tribute bands, the festival will
also feature appearances by some of the 3000+ members of MFAWP
(www.myspace.com/..Musiciansforpeace).  Most notably, singer/songwriter Essra Mohawk, who was
connected with the original Woodstock, who sang with The Jerry Garcia Band,
and who was the first woman in Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention.
Additional artists are still being invited to the event, and will be announced on the
organizations' respective websites as they are confirmed.

Mohawk shared, "I'm really looking forward to WoodFest '09!  It's time to
bring back that peace-loving spirit that was born in the glorious '60s; it's
time to manifest the dream we all shared then. There is no better time than
now to bring music, art and peace to children and people of all ages who are
hungry for a better, kinder world.  Music has the power to move the world,
open hearts and lift spirits, and that's exactly what's going to happen at
WoodFest in Oklahoma on August 14-16, 2009." (www.essramohawk.com)

Moore, who also founded the Butterfly Gardeners Association in 1993, will
conduct a commemorative Butterfly Release at WoodFest '09, as he did in 1997
at the Woodstock Reunion in Bethel, New York.  Moore promotes butterflies as
messengers of peace and harmony, and utilizes them as peace education tools
for children. Moore has conducted numerous symbolic butterfly releases,
most recently last November, when he and conceptual artist Daniel Dancer of
Oregon turned two hundred kids at Presidio Middle School, SF, into a Mission
Blue butterfly in the school courtyard as part of a living painting
(http://passion.edu/elearn/..mod/resource/view.php?id=1705)...

"What was called 'flower power' back then is evolving into 'butterfly
power' now and being embraced by even more people than embraced the peace and
love generation of the '60s," says Moore.  "When Joni Mitchell wrote the lyrics
to her Woodstock song, 'By the time we got to Woodstock, we were half a
million strong and everywhere was song and celebration. And I dreamed I saw the
bombers riding shotgun in the sky, turning into butterflies above our
nation,' it was more than inspirational, it was truly prophetic," Moore adds.

WoodFest '09 will also feature exhibits that promote the Green movement and
Environmental Awareness.  Tickets sales info and event details are
available on the WoodFest '09 website after June 16th, 2009 at www.woodfest09.com.

I just got off the phone with Alan of Musicians and Fine Artists for World peace.  He was having me do some things and asked me to post this:

Dear friends of Musicians for Peace

Musicians for Peace has now formed a working committee of our members and
producers to help organize and promote events and tours for the 40th Anniversary
Woodstock in 2009. Some of the previous Woodstock reunions got bad press, were
accused of being too commercial and of booking some bands that were out of
character with what the true spirit of Woodstock was all about.

We plan to hold that candle and link with many of the festivals that want to
celebrate the 40th anniversary with us as well. We also plan to create a
rooster of intergenerational musicians that represent this spirit and are available
to play at Woodstock Anniversary Tribute events, including some that were at
the original event.

The first Woodstock exceeded even the expectations of its visionary founders
because it transformed itself into a spontaneous and magical happening for all
those involved and that experienced it. Woodstock represents something
special even to those that were too young to attend or not even born then.  What
started as a well planned and ticketed event embraced the elements of chaos and
hoards of expectant concert goers and became a free event.  It will always be
remembered as the greatest of all gathering ... some half million people
celebrating peace and love together in the midst of a tragic war.

"Some came to sing, some came to pray. Some came to keep the dark away. We
were so close, there was no room. We bled inside each other's wounds. We all had
caught the same disease. And we all sang the songs of peace." - Melanie's Lay
Down (Candles in the Rain)

This project is in its infancy and we are inviting you to follow our
development at  http://passion.edu/elearn/mod/resource/view.php?id=1712

Might you want to be on our advisory committee for that and take a more
active role?  If so, please send me your contact info, a short bio, a photo and a
statement of what the original event meant to you, what you might like to see
happen for the 40th anniversary and what you have to offer to help make this
happen.

Please forward this email to anyone you think would like to be on or
committee or to any performers or bands that may want to be included on our Woodstock
Anniversary Tribute Performer list.

I recently found out that the Obama transition team is interested as well.
LouRicca invited Obama under the Musicians and Fine Artists for World Peace -
MFAWP banner since, out of all of our organizations, MFAWP is the organizer on
top of all of our individual ones. Please see our Obama portrait on my blog at
http://www.myspace.com/musiciansforpeace

When Joni Mitchell wrote the lyrics to her Woodstock song (inspired by Essra
Mohawk), "By the time we got to Woodstock, we were half a million strong and
everywhere was song and celebration. And I dreamed I saw the bombers riding
shotgun in the sky, turning into butterflies above our nation," it was more than
inspirational, it was truly prophetic. In fact, in 1997 we were invited to do
a butterfly release at the Woodstock Reunion in Bethel, New York from the
original Woodstock stage.  What was called 'flower power' then is evolving into
'butterfly power' now and being embraced by even more people than embraced the
peace and love generation of the 60's.

BTW, Essra is one of our board members and played at the 40th Anniversary of
the Summer of Love in Golden Gate Park and was in the Mothers of Invention and
the Jerry Garcia Band. She was also my host in Nashville. I was at her home
in Nashville in October 2008 setting up a Musicians for Peace Chapter when we
got a call from Melanie, also from Nashville, and heard about our meeting. She
has since joined our cause as well as more than 3000 others in 57 countries
including Donovan, Patti LaBelle, Pete Seeger, Melba Moore, the New Rascals,
Willie Nelson's Peace Research Institute, the Dalai Lama, Holly Near, Country
Joe, Wayne Dyer, Patch Adams, Jean Houston, Dennis Kucinich and Deepak Chopra's
Alliance for a New Humanity.

We are also willing and looking forward to doing a butterfly release at any
of the Woodstock Anniversary events that would welcome us, including having the
attendees form a huge butterfly image as was done by conceptual artist Daniel
Dancer of Art for the Sky at the Presidio Middle School in San Francisco at
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/11/07/BA6P13VLKG.DTL
and on our website at  http://passion.edu/elearn/mod/resource/view.php?id=1705

40th Anniversary of Woodstock Events Committee Invite

Invitation from Alan Moore of Musicians and Fine Artists for World Peace

40th Anniversary Woodstock Tour Information from Alan
Current mood: peaceful
Category: News and Politics

I am working with some or our members and producers to organize a 40th
Anniversary Woodstock Tour next year in the true spirit of what Woodstock was all
about.  We also would like to promote and link with many of the festivals that
want to celebrate the 40th anniversary with us as well.

This project is in its infancy and we are inviting you to follow our
development at  http://passion.edu/elearn/mod/resource/view.php?id=1712

Might you want to be on our advisory committee for that and take a more
active role?  If so, please send me your contact info, a short bio, a photo and a
statement of what you would like to see happen for the 40th anniversary and
what you have to offer to help make this happen.

I recently found out that the Obama transition team is interested as well.
LouRicca invited Obama under the Musicians and Fine Artists for World Peace
banner since, out of all of our organizations, MFAWP is the organizer on top of
all of our individual ones. This will eliminate confusion since we have many we
work under. The Obama transition team has said this invite will stand for all
of us and to not confuse them by multiple invites.

Those getting involved with the events and tour include:

Artie Kornfeld - The father of Woodstock. He would make himself available to
be at 40th Woodstock Anniversary that Boots is planning for Golden Gate Park
http://www.artiekornfeld-woodstock.com
Toney Burkhart  - Stage manager - Worked for Bill Graham back at the old

, etc. etc. etc.

BTW, when I was in Nashville in October setting up a Musicians for Peace
Chapter there we got a call from Melanie as she lives in Nashville and heard about our meeting, perhaps from one of her two daughters that are also members of our group..

When Joni Mitchell wrote the lyrics to her Woodstock song, "By the time we
got to Woodstock, we were half a million strong and everywhere was song and
celebration. And I dreamed I saw the bombers riding shotgun in the sky, turning

Using My LiveShow for Discussions

Note On Using My LiveShow Channel for Discussions
Current mood: thoughtful
Category: News and Politics

The LiveShow can be set to "friends only" for private discussions, can be set for only "friends" to be able to engage and let others just watch, or to allow discussion from any viewer.  These levels of security can be used for different discussion purposes.  When we want it private, we just allow friends.  When we want to discuss things and let people hear, we can set it for only us to be able to add input, but allow others to see.  When we want input from the public, we can have it completely open.

Since the elections are over, I haven't been using my channel much, so it's pretty open to whatever we want to do with it.

Love, Hope, Peace, & The Light Is With Us All,

Cal-el
